In vitro diagnostics
●Cys C is a low molecular weight protein whose blood level is little interfered by sex, age and muscle mass, and becomes attention as a novel renal function marker.
●Urinal collection, which is needed for creatinine clearance (CCr) test, is not necessary, and only serum (plasma) assay of Cys C enables to evaluate renal function.
●The assay is more sensitive and specific to renal function than serum creatinine, and enables to disgnose at early stage of renal dysfunction.
